Toledo District

Toledo District

Toledo is the southernmost district in Belize and receives the most rainfall. As such, the habitats are lusher and the moisture from the Caribbean Sea increases this even more. Although it is relatively small, this district holds a variety of habitats from the coastal marshes to the ridge-top of the Maya Mountains. The major habitats are:

  3. Lowland Pine Savannah
  4. Lowland Broadleaf Wet Forest
  5. Submontane Broadleaf Wet Forest
