Corozal District
Corozal is one of the smallest districts in Belize and remains relatively “unbirded” with the least records coming from this district. It borders to the North and West with Mexico and the shallow Caribbean waters of the Corozal Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to the East. The Orange Walk and Belize Districts are South of this district. The district can be divided into 6 major habitats. These are:
- Urban Coast with minimal Mangrove/Littoral Forest
- Agricultural/Urban settlements
- Lowland broadleaf dry Forest
- Tall Herb Lowland Swamp
- Freshwater and Riparian Habitat
- Brackish Wetland.
The larger urban settlements in Corozal District are:
